Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.
• Manage tax compliance, including preparation and submission of SARS e-Filing, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Lead a small team of bookkeepers, providing training, support, and guidance to enhance their skills and productivity.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding their financial status and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to facilitate audits and internal controls.
• Support the finance team on special projects and initiatives as needed.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance regulations.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and client management capabilities.
• Experience in team management is preferred.
